Information about the Spring Soiree

Saturday, April 21st, 6:00 – 9:00PM. Needham Town Hall.

There will be food, live music, a cash bar, and Gifford’s Annual Cutest Pet Photo Contest! Buy tickets here.

It’s the shelter’s biggest fundraising event each year, and to make it possible Gifford needs donated items including “dining, entertainment & travel, sports, health & beauty, jewelry, home & garden, and of course pet items!” Below is a message from Gifford:

Can you help us by donating an item and spreading the word to your family & friends?  Are there local restaurants or businesses that you could ask to donate?  Do you have any gift cards or gift items that you can’t use, but would make a great auction or raffle item?

Examples of auction/raffle items include:

•    restaurant gift cards
•    gift cards for stores (food stores, gift shops, pet supply stores, department stores…)
•    gift cards for web site purchases (Amazon…)
•    event or entertainment tickets (sports theater, movies, any recreational venue)
•    handmade craft items
•    gift items or baskets for the home, children, pets…
•    food/wine related gifts
We have also set up an Amazon Wish List for the auction/raffle.

If you have any items you’d like to donate but don’t have the time to drive it over, email for us to transport it for you. Jessica, Emily, and I can collect stuff right at school. We’ll take pictures so you can know what your donations sold for and how you’ve helped this shelter.

It’s a really fun event, so if you have some time, consider attending in person. You don’t need to donate items to support Gifford––you can also come to bid on items and get great deals as well as helping the shelter continue their amazing work! 🙂

Plans for this 2018

Hope this year’s started off well for you all! 2018 is a pretty busy year for me as a senior, so to keep Pawprinter moving, I’ve asked two underclassmen friends from Lexington, Jessica and Emily Ma.

Last year Pawprinter donated $1000 to Gifford Cat Shelter and a framed artwork to their silent auction. This year I’ll be promoting the event, the Spring Soiree, and collecting items for the shelter to auction. Emily created this poster for us to put up at both our schools. Isn’t it beautiful? 🙂

We plan to be more active this year and physically visit shelters we donate to, and possibly branch out to other local organizations that aren’t animal shelters. For example, Charles River Alley Cats is an organization that prevents overpopulation with Trap-Neuter-Return and placing adoptable strays with owners.

Thank you for reading, and have a lovely day!

Houston and Puerto Rico

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Pawprinter has donated $300 to the Greater Houston Community Foundation to help the families and pets affected by the disaster.

The next community service is unrelated to pets and will not be managed by Pawprinter, but is still important. Puerto Rico has also recently gone through a hurricane, and after Hurricane Maria, many are still without dependable sources of clean water. My Biology class is raising money to send water-filters to families in affected areas.

To support Puerto Rico, you can visit the website of the group our school is collaborating with here. Below is a poster I created to explain our cause. Thank you very much for reading!
